The prospect of interstate on line poker player pool-sharing in the US has moved one step closer, following the news that the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has, on principal, approved a multi-operator player-sharing community in the state. The Board heard that this new system, created by 888 Holdings, would link the online poker websites of multiple gambling enterprises in Nevada, thus increasing player liquidity.
The new network would initially consist of 888’s partner and market leader in Nevada, WSOP.com, as well as a new Treasure Island online poker room, that is currently looking for regulatory approval prior to introduce, and a 3rd separate 888 poker room. The door would be open for other operators to join in the foreseeable future. The Board said it might make a decision that is official the matter this week.
